Students Get Involved in the Student Allies Group!
Knight Allies is for students, especially those who DO NOT identify as GLBTQ, who are committed to creating a better community for UCF's GLBTQ students (in other words, our straight allies). They are the "A" in GLBTQA! Allies advocate for the elimination of homophobia and for the inclusion of GLBTQ students on campus. ALLIES VISION & MISSION VISION: To create a culture where all people are treated fairly regardless of their perceived or actual gender identity and expression; and their perceived or actual sexual orientation; and will feel accepted, affirmed and nurtured at UCF.
This is a great opportunity for students who are interested in social justice and advocacy issues. The Allies program will allow students to get involved with issues that impact the GLBTQ community at UCF as well as gain great presentation and advocacy experience. Knight Allies Speaker’s Bureau: The GLBTQA Speaker’s Bureau strives to educate the campus community about relevant and controversial issues affecting the GLBTQ and Ally Community. The Bureau provides informative programming that can include, but is not limited to, panel discussions, workshops, and guest speakers to address the realities for members of the GLBTQ community. If you are interested in becoming a member please contact: UCF undergraduate and graduate students welcome. |
