What is a Workshop?

Workshops are interactive seminars that may involve structured exercises, personal assessment tools, and educational information that will help a person gain self-awareness and new knowledge about a certain issue. Workshops are designed to help students learn a new skill, change a behavior, or acquire new knowledge. Workshops tend to be a lower risk format and time-limited for people who want to start changing, but not yet ready for a higher level of personal sharing.

Workshops that will be offered in a semester may vary. Make sure you check the web site for Current Groups and Workshops that are offered each semester.

Workshop Descriptions

Improve Your Mood Workshop

Do you feel your mood is down more often than you would like? This workshop will address effective strategies to improve a mild to moderate depressed mood. Learn how to feel happier, have more energy, and think more positively. You will be encouraged to practice and discuss a variety of activities aimed at improving your mood.

Relaxation & Guided Imagery Group
This drop-in group will focus on techniques of relaxation and guided imagery to improve students’ ability to manage stress, concentrate, improve memory, overcome worries and fears, increase self confidence and develop a more positive outlook on life.

Empower Yourself with Stress Management

Join this workshop series to learn more about the effects of stress and how you can create a positive, relaxed shift in your mind and body. We will use the emWave Personal Stress Reliever biofeedback device to help reduce the negative effects of stress, allowing you to experience greater health, more energy, and improved emotional and mental clarity.

Cross-Cultural Awareness Series

This workshop will address grief and loss issues associated with loss of a loved one, loss of a relationship and related issues. We will focus on understanding the grief/loss process, how to effectively cope with grief and how to begin the healing process.
